The manga adaptation of One Piece is in its last act, and there is still a lot to do before Luffy’s quest concludes. The saga’s creator, Eiichiro Oda, is now working through one arc, which has left the Straw Hat team in a bind. The gang has joined forces with Dr. Vegapunk to fight the World Government, but this isn’t the most important battle on the Grand Line. The title belongs to Shanks vs. Kid, and the manga finally revealed who won that epic duel.

If you’ve been following the One Piece manga, you’ll know that in a recent chapter, Shanks and his Red-Hair Pirates met Eustass Kid. It was then that the Worst Generation leader said unequivocally that he would not submit to Shanks. As the Yonko demanded supplies from Kid, a confrontation quickly erupted, and One Piece put an end to the feud between Shanks and his adversary. However, it was scarcely a duel since Luffy’s role model dispatched Kid with a single shot.

Shanks used his Haki to destroy Kid with a blast of Divine Departure, and the battle was over in seconds. Shanks and the Red-Hair Pirates continued their attack, leaving Kid’s crew to plead for his life. Kid’s pirate gang was decimated when their ships were carried to sea in One Piece chapter 1079. Finally, Shanks obtained the artifacts required to search for Gold Roger’s riches.
Naturally, many One Piece fans predicted this conclusion. Kid may be strong, and he has proven himself to be a useful fighter in Wano. There is, however, a distinction between being talented and being able to overcome Shanks. When it comes to strength, the Yonko is a threat, and even pirates like Blackbeard would think twice before taking on Shanks. Still, Kid had the audacity to throw the opening punch, and he suffered terribly for it. So, now that Kid’s group has been annihilated, people want to know what he’ll do next.
