It’s time for One-Punch Man to adapt one of the finest arcs from the comic. Yusuke Murata, the creator of the One-Punch Man comic, has been preparing for a huge revelation. This week, the next chapter of the Neo Heroes narrative began, and we got our first peek at Murata’s take on the gang.
Or, at the very least, we saw some of them. Murata tattooed two members of the ex-vigilante gang, and his transformation is wild.
Murata brought Accel to life with a single panel, as shown at the left. Raiden may be found on the right side. The two characters seem very different from their comic book counterparts, but that’s to be expected with One-Punch Man. Murata preserved the main design features of their characters, but he spruced up everything else while ridiculing the warriors.
Here’s a little sneak peek:
Of course, Accel and Raiden will be recognizable faces to readers of webcomics. Accel is the Neo Hunters’ commander, and he has a profound distrust of the Hero Association. As we saw in One Punch Man, the fighter’s resentment of the organization stems from the heroes’ inability to save one of Accel’s loved ones. In fact, the whole Neo Hunter organization has a similar animosity, and Saitama will be confronted with it shortly.
Murata’s revamp for these Neo Hunters is clearly stunning, and fans are anxious to see his take on this new storyline. As One-Punch Man has been rather upbeat about pro heroes, the Neo Heroes story will portray the darker side of the heroine. Now we’ll look at what happens to those who slip through the gaps in society and how the Neo Hunters account for them.
If you haven’t read the One-Punch Man manga yet, we encourage you to do so right now. Viz Media in the United States is publishing the manga with a delay. Of course, you can watch the One-Punch Man anime to catch up on Saitama’s initial set of assignments. Crunchyroll is currently streaming two seasons, and a third season has been confirmed.
