The official website for the Naruto anime franchise made an announcement on Thursday regarding the series’ 20th anniversary celebration. The Naruto television anime will air four “brand-new” episodes beginning in September. The series first debuted in October 2002.
To add to the excitement, selected earlier episodes of the anime will also be rerun in Japan starting in July. Fans will have the chance to relive the show’s earliest episodes.
In addition, Studio Pierrot streamed a “Road of Naruto” video in October that condenses two decades of the anime’s history into 10 minutes, showcasing new animation footage. This video is a great way for fans to revisit the series and celebrate its longevity, while also getting a taste of what’s to come in the new episodes set to air in September.

The official Twitter account of the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations anime made an announcement in October about the upcoming celebration of Naruto’s 20th anniversary. As part of the festivities, the account revealed three new visuals for the Naruto anime. These visuals are sure to heighten anticipation and excitement among fans looking forward to the new episodes set to air in September.

The Naruto franchise comprises numerous TV anime, anime films, and original video anime. The initial Naruto TV anime was broadcasted from 2002 to 2007, while the sequel series, Naruto Shippūden, made its debut in 2007 and concluded in 2017.
In May 2016, Weekly Shonen Jump introduced Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, a manga sequel launched by Ukyō Kodachi and Mikio Ikemoto. Originally released on a monthly basis in the magazine, the manga shifted to Shueisha’s V Jump magazine in July 2019.
In November 2020, the original author of the Naruto manga, Masashi Kishimoto, took over as the writer of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. This news excited fans, as Kishimoto’s return to the series hinted at new storylines and developments for the beloved characters.
The Boruto: Naruto Next Generations television anime made its debut in April 2017, much to the excitement of fans of the Naruto franchise. The series is being simulcast on Hulu by Viz Media, allowing viewers to watch it as it airs in Japan, while Crunchyroll is also streaming the anime. The series also made its way to Adult Swim’s Toonami block in September 2018, further increasing its visibility. To satisfy the demands of die-hard fans, Viz Media is releasing the anime on home video. Part I of the anime is coming to an end on March 26, and the production team has already green-lit Part II.
