Exciting news for fans of YOASOBI and Oshi no Ko! A live-streamed event for the television anime adaptation of Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari’s manga series Oshi no Ko has just debuted its full theatrical trailer. The trailer gives fans a sneak peek at the upcoming Oshi no Ko: Mother and Children theatrical screenings, along with an added bonus of a brand-new cast member. Additionally, the trailer features YOASOBI’s opening theme song “Idol,” adding to the excitement surrounding this upcoming anime.
The anime is based on a manga published by Shueisha’s Young Jump Comics label, which is written by Aka Akasaki and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari. The manga was first serialized in Weekly Young Jump in 2020 and currently has nine tankoubon volumes as of October 2022.

Yen Press licensed the manga, and it describes the story:
Gorou is a gynecologist and idol fan who’s in shock after his favorite star, Ai, announces an impromptu hiatus. Little does Gorou realize that he’s about to forge a bond with her that defies all common sense! Lies are an idol’s greatest weapon in this outrageous manga from Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and Mengo Yokoyari (Scum’s Wish).
Did you know that the Oshi no Ko manga has been receiving lots of accolades lately? The series won the Best General Manga category in the 46th annual Kodansha Manga Awards and placed first in the seventh “Next Manga Awards.” It was also nominated for the prestigious Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize and ranked #7 on the top 20 list of manga for male readers in the 2022 edition of Takarajimasha’s Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This Manga Is Amazing!) guidebook. With over 3 million copies in circulation, it’s no wonder why Oshi no Ko has been making waves in the manga scene. Check it out for yourself!
