Has anyone else missed the timid Haruhi, Prince Tamaki, and the Squad from the classic romantic-comedy anime Ouran High School Host Club? Well, this may be your lucky day!
Ouran High School Host Club has been silent for some time, but don’t be fooled by its stillness. The rom-com dominated the early 2010s, and its actors have not been forgotten by creator Bisco Hatori. After all, fans have been pleading for more content since the series ended in 2010, and owing to some recent artwork, all eyes are on Haruhi right now.
That is correct. The members of the group have reunited, and the new piece by Hatori has fans screaming for an anime reboot.
Check out the new art on the fan cafe’s Twitter page here:
As you can see above, the artwork is lovely and features all of our faves. Haruhi stands out in a host outfit that includes a striped vest and skirt. Isn’t it just amazing to see the anime’s main characters together in one frame again? Plus with the somehow modernized and improved art, it feels somewhat refreshing and new!
The artwork depicts the entire host club dressed in uniform in support of Haruhi. The twins can be seen together while Kyoya works on a checklist in the rear. The gang has reunited, and the reunion feels natural. Last October, Ouran High School Host Club launched a limited-time cafe in Tokyo, prompting Hatori to share the painting. If there was ever an anime that was fit to have its own cafe, Ouran High School Host Club would be at the top of the list.
This new artwork has finally made its way online, and the nostalgia is, predictably, fueling calls for an anime reboot. After all, Studio Bones was unable to complete the plot begun by Hatori’s manga. The show stopped after a single season in 2006, while the manga continued for another four years. To this day, fans are still hopeful Bones would revive Ouran High School Host Club, and other rom-com’s like Fruits Basket has given us hope with their reboots. So, for the time being, fans must maintain their resolve!
