Heads up, manga readers. It seems we won’t be seeing the rosy-cheeked Prince Bojji for quite a while. This is after the 230/231st chapter of Ranking of Kings (Ōsama Ranking) manga announced on Saturday that the series is going on hiatus for a while. The announcement, however, did not provide a specific date when will the manga resume.
Check out the actual message below:

A translation of the announcement reads as such:
I will be on a break for a while. Thank you for your patience.

Launched in May 2017, Ranking of Kings is a fantasy manga series created by Sōsuke Tōka and serialized on Manga Hack website. Japanese publisher Enterbrain later on collected the series into fifteen tankōbon volumes.

A TV anime adaptation followed in October 2021 and ran up to March 2022. Yōsuke Hatta directed the series at Wit Studio, with Taku Kishimoto as the screenwriter. Atsuko Nozaki designed the characters, while MAYUKO composed the series’ music.
Crunchryroll is streaming all episodes of the series. It describes the story as such:
How prosperous your nation is, how many powerful warriors it boasts, and how heroic and strong its king is. These are the criteria that factor into the system known as the Ranking of Kings.
The main character, Bojji, was born the first prince of the kingdom ruled by King Bossu, who is ranked number seven.
But Bojji was born unable to hear and is so powerless that he can’t even swing a sword. In consequence, his own retainers and the public, look down upon him as completely unfit to be king.
It is then that Bojji finds his first friend, Kage, and Bojji’s life takes a dramatic turn…
A TV anime consisting of special episodes, titled The Ōsama Ranking: Yūki no Takarabako (Ranking of Kings: Treasure Chest of Courage), is also scheduled to premiere in April 2023. It will feature returning cast and staff and will cover stories not included in the original anime.
