Get ready for the upcoming anime film, Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out! The full trailer for the first of the two projects based on Hajime Kamoshida’s Seishun Buta Yarō light novel series was recently released by the staff. The trailer also offers a sneak peek of the film’s theme song, “Fukashigi no Karte” (Mysterious Chart), sung by Kaede Azusagawa (voiced by Yurika Kubo).
The film adapts the eighth and ninth novels in the franchise and is directed by Sōichi Masui at CloverWorks. Masahiro Yokotani returns for composition and scripts, while Satomi Tamura is back as the character designer.

The returning cast includes:
- Kaito Ishikawa as Sakuta Azusagawa Asami
- Seto as Mai Sakurajima
- Yurika Kubo as Kaede Azusagawa
- Nao Tōyama as Tome Koga
- Atsumi Tanezaki as Rio Futaba
- Maaya Uchida as Nodoka Toyohama
- Inori Minase as Shōko Makinohara
Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out opens in Japan on June 23. This film is the latest addition to the franchise, which includes the TV anime Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai and the anime film Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl. The original light novel series is available in English through Yen Press.

The Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out anime film is a sequel to the 2018 anime series Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai and the 2019 film Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl. The film is based on the light novels by Hajime Kamoshida, with illustrations by Kēji Mizoguchi.
Sakuta is reaching the end of his second year at high school. He does not know how much time he has left with Mai, who will graduate next year. Sakuta’s sister Kaede begins to head outdoors again and announces her goal of attending her brother’s high school. Sakuta knows how difficult it would be but still supports her.
