The staff of the new sequel anime project based on Hajime Kamoshida’s Rascal Does Not Dream (Seishun Buta Yarō) light novel series revealed that the project will be released in theaters.
The eighth and ninth novels in the franchise, Rascal Does Not Dream of as Sister Venturing Out and Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid, will be adapted for the sequel anime project. The project’s duration was not specified in the announcement but theaters will be giving advance ticket sets that will allow the buyer to view Rascal Does not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out and Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid each once.

The returning cast includes:
- Kaito Ishikawa as Sakuta Azusagawa

Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai (Seishun Buta Yarō wa Bunny Girl-senpai no Yume wa Minai), based on the light novel series, began in Japan in October 2018 and ran for 13 episodes. Aniplex of America made the series available on Crunchyroll, Funimation, and other platforms.
Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl (Seishun Buta Yarō wa Yume-Miru Shōjo no Yume Minai, an anime film based on the franchise’s sixth and seventh light novel volumes, premiered in Japan in June 2019. The anime was screened in the United States by Aniplex of America and Funimation Films. The original light novel series is being published in English by Yen Press.
