Crunchyroll announced that the new anime, Raven of the Inner Palace will be receiving an English dub version! The voice actors and crew were also revealed, as well as the October 22 release date on the Crunchyroll platform.
The anime debuted last October 1-4, 2022 on select Japanese broadcast channels, and on online streaming platforms like Crunchyroll, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, and many more. Bandai Namco Pictures is the animation production studio. They also produce the Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun anime series.
The English cast members are:
- Shouxue – voiced by Alexis Tipton, known for playing Kaguya in Kaguya-sama: Love is War, Millianna in Fairy Tail, and many more
- Gaojun – voiced by Christopher Wehkamp, known for playing Shouta Aizawa in My Hero Academia, Ren in Fairy Tail, and many more

Raven of the Inner Palace Synopsis
Shouxue is the enigmatic Raven Consort who lives in the inner palace who does not perform duties for the emperor, Gaojun. She was never called to his chambers despite her position, hence she is considered a special and unique consort.
People have varying opinions about her. Some say she has an appearance of an old woman, while some believed she is a young lady. What they are sure of is that she is skilled of the mysterious arts of doing favors for people in exchange for a price. It ranges from doing trivial items such as finding a lost item to cursing someone to death.
Shouxue’s life will change, however, as Emperor Gaojun decided to ask her for a favor.

The trailer introduced the main protagonist, Shouxue, the mysterious Raven Consort that was not visited by the emperor. People harbor fear and hesitation whenever they would visit the Raven Consort. She uses mysterious arts to fulfill people’s favors, but not without a price.
If a person wishes to curse someone, they have to dig two graves. If they want someone dead, then they will have to sacrifice a life. If they want blessings, they will have to give up their possessions.
Raven of the Inner Palace Light Novel Background
Kouko Shirakawa is the author of the Raven of the Inner Palace light novel, while Ayuko served as the illustrator. It was first released in April 2018, and ended in April 2022 with 7 volumes and 27 chapters. It was published by Shueisha.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the novels to an English version. Volume 1 is slated to release in February 14, 2023, while Volume 2 will follow by June 6, 2023.
