Rejoice isekai fans everywhere! The much-awaited anime adaptation of Kogitsune Kanekiru‘s fantasy light novel Re: Monster has been announced. A PV released by the official X account of the anime announced the anime in a post. The official website also released a key visual for the anime. Other details are yet to be revelead about the series.

The main character Gob-Rou will be voiced by Takuya Satō (Albert James Moriarty of Moriarty the Partriot). The illustrator for the manga adaptation Haruyoshi Kobayakawa, celebratated the anime announcement with commemorative art.

GENCO is producing the anime, and Studio DEEN is in charge of animation. The manga adaptation is licensed Seven Seas, and will publish the seventh volume in English on October 31. Seven Seas describes the story as:
Tomokui Kanata has suffered an early death, but his adventures are far from over. He is reborn into a fantastical world of swords and magic– as a lowly goblin! Not content to let this stop him, the now renamed “Rou” uses his new physical abilities and his old memories to plow ahead in a world where consuming other creatures allows him to acquire their strengths and powers.

Re: Monster started as a light novel series written by Kogitsune Kanekiru and illustrated by Yamaada. It was first serialized online on the user-generated website Shousetsuka ni Narou! (Let’s Become Novelists!) between May 2011 and 2018. AlphaPolis later acquired the title and published nine main volumes, a side story volume, and an extra volume between August 2012 and August 2017. A manga adaptation with art by Haruyoshi Kobayakawa has been serialized on AlphaPolis’ manga website since March 2014. It has been collected in ten tankōbon. A sequel light novel series titled Re: Monster Ankoku Tairiku Hen written by Kanekiru and illustrated Naji Yanagida, began publication under AlphaPolis in July 2018.
