The light novel series was licensed by J-Novel Club, and described it as follows:
Hero-King Inglis’s last wish is to live again as a warrior. Though when he awakens, he realizes he’s been reborn as a girl to a noble family! Even when rejected from the knighthood, she sets out to be the most extraordinary squire there ever was.
Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire started as a fantasy light novel series written by Hayaken and illustrated by Nagu. It began serialization on the user-generated novel publishing website Shousetsuka ni Narou! (Let’s Become Novelists!) in March 2019. It was eventually purchased by Hobby Japan, which has released eight volumes under their HJ Bunko banner since November 2019.
Since December 2019, a manga adaptation with art by Moto Kuroura has been serialized on Hobby Japan’s Comic Fire website and collected four tankōbon volumes. J-Novel Club has licensed the light novel and manga in North America. A two-episode mini anime adaptation was broadcasted on Comic Fire’s Twitter account between November 7 and November 14, 2020.
