Coamix’s Monthly Comic Zenon Magazine revealed in their November issue the spin-off manga for Record of Ragnarok (Shuumatsu no Walkure) titled Shuumatsu no Walkure Kitan – Jack the Ripper no Jikenbo (Record of Ragnarok Mystery – The Case Files of Jack the Ripper) will debut in the magazine’s next issue on October 25.
The original series Records of Ragnarok was created by Shinya Umemura, Takumi Fukui, and Ajichika and was first published in Monthly Comic Zenon in November 2017. Umemura writes the story for the series, Ajichika illustrates it, and Fukui does the story composition. Viz Media licensed the manga in 2021 in North America. As of December 2021, the manga had over 9 million copies in circulation worldwide.
The manga was adapted as an original net animation (ONA) produced by Warner Bros. Japan and animated Graphinica. It premiered exclusively on Netflix worldwide on June 17, 2021. A second season by Graphinica and Yumeta Company is set to premiere in 2023.

A spin-off manga illustrated by Takeo Ono began in Monthly Comic Zenon on October 25, 2019, entitled Ryo Fu Hō Sen Hishōden (The Legend of Lu Bu Fengxiang The Flying General). As of June 20, 2022, six volumes of the tankobon have been released.
In October 2020, the president of the Universal Society of Hinduism, Rajan Zed released a statement addressed to Coamix, criticizing the series’ depiction of Hindu deities in the manga and urged the company to “not trivialize Lord Shiva and other highly revered Hindu gods and goddess in its manga publications.” A large group of Indian Americans objected to the anime’s depiction of Shiva, calling it “very disturbing to them” because it trivialized the deity. Netflix altered the trailer, removing Shiva to avoid further criticism. The anime was later removed from its streaming library in India.
Viz Media describes the story as:
Once every millennium, the gods assemble to decide if humanity is worthy of its continued existence or if it should be destroyed! When the verdict is destruction, the final battle between the gods and mortal heroes will decide the survival or extinction of the human race—a battle known as Ragnarok!
