The latest chapter of the Boruto manga has taken a dark turn for Boruto Uzumaki, but it has also highlighted Sasuke Uchiha’s unwavering support for his daughter, Sarada. The anime series of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations concluded earlier this year, and the manga will be on hiatus for a few months as the team prepares for the next major story arc. This latest chapter sets the stage for what’s to come.
Boruto: Naruto Next Generations is building up to the highly-anticipated time skip that was teased from the start of the Naruto sequel series. However, a shocking revelation in the latest chapter reveals that Eida’s powers have caused the rest of the Hidden Leaf Village to believe that Naruto’s real son is actually Kawaki, and that Boruto was the one responsible for killing Naruto. In the midst of this chaos, Sarada has proven to be a valuable ally to Boruto.

What Happens to Naruto in Boruto?
Previously, it was revealed that Sarada and Sumire were the only ones able to escape Eida’s powers, allowing them to retain their memories of the previous reality. However, Boruto Chapter 80 confirms that Sasuke was not as fortunate, and his memories were rewritten to believe that Kawaki is Naruto’s true son. Despite this setback, Sasuke decides to help Boruto escape from the Hidden Leaf Village after Sarada pleads with him to do so.
While Sasuke’s memories align with Kawaki being Naruto’s son and performing Boruto’s actions, he chooses to support Boruto based solely on his trust in his daughter. Although he may not believe in Boruto, he is willing to become an enemy of the Hidden Leaf Village because of Sarada’s plea. While he may be taking a risk, he trusts his daughter’s judgment enough to gamble everything on it.
