Manhwas aren’t as popular as mangas, but that does not mean they do not get enough attention. They, in fact, have a huge following—huge enough that one of Korea’s most famous manhwa, Solo Leveling is being adapted into a television anime, and it has just released its first trailer!
The anticipation grows as the official Solo Leveling Twitter account begins a gripping countdown to a huge announcement on March 21st. Fans are on the edge of their seats, waiting for further information about the impending anime adaptation.
Even before the formal announcement from Solo Leveling’s Twitter, a trailer for the anime series appeared online. The teaser was leaked by a user on Weibo, a popular Chinese social media network, who posted it only seconds before the film’s premiere. Within a few hours, the official Twitter account also announced the anime’s trailer and release date.
According to the anime adaptation’s official Twitter account, the Solo Leveling anime will be released in Winter 2024.

Not quite familiar with its plot? Solo Leveling is about Sung Jin-Woo, an initially weak “E-rank” hunter in a world where humans awaken supernatural abilities to fight dangerous monsters emerging from mysterious portals called “Gates,” miraculously gains a unique ability known as the “System” after a near-death experience in a perilous dungeon. This newfound power allows him to level up, becoming stronger and more skilled through completing quests and overcoming challenges.
Sung Jin-Woo embarks on an exciting journey of self-discovery and transformation, evolving from the “weakest hunter” to the formidable “S-rank” powerhouse known as the “Solo Player,” encountering formidable adversaries, forming alliances with fellow hunters, and uncovering the hidden truths behind the mysterious Gates and the world they inhabit.
Crunchyroll, the official streaming partner, recently stated that the Solo Leveling anime will be released in 2023. The specific launch date has yet to be announced, but the anime will air in Winter of 2024, as shown in the teaser. The Winter anime season lasts three months, from January to March. According to the material in the video, the Solo Leveling anime might premiere in January 2024.
