Spy x Family Part 2 Release Time and New Trailer Revealed

Spy x Family just released a new trailer for Season 2 that will premiere on October 1, 2022 at 23:00 (11:00 PM)! It featured the new opening song, “Souvenir” by a Japanese rock band, BUMP OF CHICKEN. The anime’s official Twitter account and website also announced the broadcast schedule. Season 2 will also stream on Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, Crunchyroll, and many other streaming sites.

Here are the select Japanese channels that have the October 1 (23:00 ~ 11:00 PM) (Every Saturday) schedule:

TV Aichi
TV Setouchi
TV Hokkaido
TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting

There are also different broadcast schedules in other Japanese channels as well. You may check it in the anime’s official website for more information.

Take note that the broadcast schedules may still be subject to change. The episodes will be released in accordance to the day the first episode will premiere.

Spy x Family is a story about a spy with the codename Twilight, who was assigned a top secret mission. It requires him to get married and have a child, which is why he has Yor Briar as a wife and Anya as his adoptive daughter. He has his false identity as the psychiatrist Dr. Loid Forger. His goal is to investigate Donovan Desmond, a politician who is threatening the peace of between the East and West nations. This is by infiltrating the social gathering held at the prestigious school where his son is studying. This is where Anya comes in, where she has to do well in school and get close to Donovan’s son. However, it does not come easy as both Anya and Yor also have secrets of their own.

Season 1 of Spy x Family aired from April 9 to June 25, 2022 with a total of 12 episodes. It is jointly produced by Wit Studio and CloverWorks. The series is highly popular, as it topped the Japanese streaming charts for 9 weeks straight as of July 2022.

Spy x Family started as manga that is serialized on the Shounen Jump website in 2019. Tetsuya Endou is the author and illustrator of the work. Shueisha published the manga in physical and digital copies in 2019, and has since released the 9th volume as of 2022. Shueisha also made the manga available in the MANGA Plus website and it currently has 67 pages. VIZ Media licensed the manga in English and started releasing it in 2020. As of now, the 8 volumes are complete. The chapters of the 9th volume are currently being published.

Spy x Family also spawned a light novel and a musical adaptation. The light novel was published and released by Shueisha in 2021. Aya Yajima is credited for this. The musical adaptation is said to premiere by March 2023.
