The upcoming show will serve as the TV anime adaptation of the hit light novel series of the same name by Kazuha Kishimoto. The story first appeared on the “Shōsetsuka ni Narō” website in 2015. It quickly found its way into print with illustrations by Shimahara in October of the same year.
A manga adaptation by Arashiyama followed and was released on Futabasha’s Web Comic Action site in 2018.
Coolmic, the manga adaptation’s publisher, describes the series as such:
There was once a hero who was summoned to another world, and he saved that world. However, the man was caught in a “trap” and was forcibly returned to his original world. On top of that, he had to start over as a baby… This is the story of a crazy journey in another world where a former hero who was reincarnated into a slightly gloomy high school student is “resummoned” back to that same world! There’s a lot of room to work with when it’s the second time, huh
Motoki Nakanishi (Kaguya-sama: Love is War Ultra Romantic episode director) is directing the anime, with Yukihito as the screenwriter. Mikako Kunii (Date A Live IV episode animation director) is designing the characters.
Shun’ichi Toki will star as Setsu, along with Kaori Maeda as Eruka, Satomi Amano as Yuhi, Fairouz Ai as Revia, Saori Oonishi as Dezasutol, and Takuma Nagatsuka as Toma.
