Missing the classic post-apocalyptic sci-fi trope? Fans of Ghost in the Shell and Cowboy Bebop just got something new to look forward to. SYNDUALITY, a new dystopian, futuristic anime is set to conquer the small screen soon. The official Twitter account of SYNDUALITY made the announcement on Twitter with the release of a teaser visual for the anime, coupled with a cast reveal.

Aoi Koga (Kaguya Shinomiya in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War) will play the character of Noir. Meanwhile, Nagisa Aoyama (Ren Hazuki in Love Live! Superstar!!) will play Ciel, and M.A.O (Iris in Fire Force) will voice Schnee.

SYNDUALITY anime is part of a bigger project called “Project Syn” by Bandai Namo Entertainment. The project includes a third-person shooter game of the same name scheduled for release in 2023. Gamers of SYNDUALITY will play as Drifters, who survive by collecting rare AO Crystals while fending off monsters called Enders.

Character designs of the game is by Neco, while mechanical design is handled by Ippei Gyoubu.

Yosuke Futami, Bandai Namco producer, described the story of SYNDUALITY as follows:

The year is 2222. It has been years since Tears of the New Moon, a mysterious rain, poured and wiped out almost the entire human race. The poisonous rain gave birth to deformed creatures devouring for humans, and humanity fled from the danger. As means for survival, the humans then build an underground haven; Amasia. In this new built dystopian city, on a pursuit of maintaining their existence, they run into an Artificial Intelligence named Magus. Not knowing how things will work between them, the story of how Humans and AI coinciding and trying to find their truths begin.

No exact release date for the anime has been announced yet.
