A new promotional video for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Nozomu Mochitsuki’s Tearmoon Empire light novel series has just been released, and it revealed that the anime is set to premiere in October this year! A new key visual was also unveiled, along with two (2) more characters in the series!
Check them all out below:

Voice actor Tomori Kusunoki (Makima in Chainsaw Man) will be joining the cast as Anne Littstein, while Yuichiro Umehara (Manabu Horikita in Classroom of the Elite) will voice Ludwig Hewitt. They will be joining the previously-announced heroine, Sumire Uesaka (Nagatoro in Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro) as Mia Luna Tearmoon.
Launched in August 2018, Tearmoon Empire started as a novel series published on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website. The series was later published in print by TO Books with illustrations by Gilse in June 2019. A manga adaptation followed in January 2020 by Mizu Morino.
J-Novel Club, the publisher of both the novel series and the manga adaptation, describes the story as follows:
Surrounded by the hate-filled gazes of her people, the selfish princess of the fallen Tearmoon Empire, Mia, takes one last look at the bleeding sun before the guillotine blade falls… Only to wake back up as a twelve-year-old! With time rewound and a second chance at life dropped into her lap, she sets out to right the countless wrongs that plague the ailing Empire. Corrupt governance? Check. Border troubles? Check. Natural calamities and economic strife? Check. My, seems like a lot of work. Hard work and Mia don’t mix, so she seeks out the aid of others, starting with her loyal maid, Anne, and the brilliant minister, Ludwig. Together, they strive day and night to restore the Empire. Little by little, their tireless efforts begin to change the course of history, pushing the whole of the continent toward a new future. And why did the selfish princess have a change of heart, you ask? Simple—she didn’t. She’s just terrified of the guillotine. They hurt like hell, and Mia hates pain more than work.
Yūshi Ibe (The Greatest Demon Lord is Reborn as a Typical Nobody) will serve as the director of the anime adaptation, while Deko Akao (Komi Can’t Communicate) will handle the scripts. Mai Otsuka (The Demon Girl Next Door) is in charge of designing the characters. Kōji Fujimoto is composing the music. SILVER LINK is producing the series.
