The staff of Kore Yamazaki‘s The Ancient Magus’ Bride (Mahō Tsukai no Yome) manga released the first English subbed trailer of the second season’s main visual, cast, and April 6 premiere. The anime will premiere in Japan on Tokyo MX on April 6 at 10:00 p.m. JST before being broadcast on BS11. Amazon Prime Video and Hikari TV will offer the series for streaming in Japan. Excluding Asia, Crunchyroll will be streaming the anime worldwide.
The “Gakuin” (College) arc of the manga, which debuted on May 2018, will be adapted into the anime. In March 2019, the original TV anime’s cast and crew created an animated promotional film for the arc.

After Cartaphilus fell back into a slumber that would not last forever, Chise was able to go back to her regular life. Then she receives an invitation from a mutual aid organization for mages called the College.

The three-episode OAD (original anime disc) project The Ancient Magus’ Bride – The Boy from the West and the Knight of the Blue Storm is the most recent anime in the series. The limited copies of the manga’s 16th, 17th, and 18th volumes are being sold together with the project. The 16th volume was released on September 10, 2021, the 17th was released on March 10, 2022, and the 18th was released on September 10, 2022. The OAD staff referred to the show as the “initial part” of a brand-new anime undertaking. Excluding Asia, the OAD project is available to stream via Crunchyroll.
The manga previously served as the inspiration for the 2017 TV anime. The series was available for streaming in both English subbed on Crunchyroll and English dubbed on Funimation. The manga also served as the basis of the 2017 original video animation(OVA) series The Ancient Magus’ Bride: Those Awaiting a Star. In 2019, Funimation released the OVA and all 24 episodes of the TV series on home video.

The Ancient Magus’ Bride manga by Yamazaki first appeared in the September 2014 issue of Monthly Comic Blade, published by Mag Garden. The manga was later published in Monthly Comic Garden by the publisher which is still being published today. More than 10 million copies of the manga are in circulation. The manga is being published in English by Seven Seas Entertainment. In addition, Seven Seas is putting out several spin-offs and supplemental books for the series.
