The Dangers in My Heart shared its first official teaser photo on Twitter. After previously sharing the illustration process of the photo, it was finally completed by the author and illustrator, Norio Sakurai.
The anime is slated to premiere in 2023. There are no announcements yet about the specific release date.
The story is about an introverted boy, Kyotaro Ichikawa, who is unpopular in his school. He tries to find ways to disturb his classmates’ peaceful lives because he thinks he is a tortured lead in a psychological thriller. What he did not expect is that his crush, Anna Yamada, is also a bit odd herself despite being a class idol.

The Dangers in My Heart started as a manga in the 12th issue of Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shounen Champion magazine in 2018 by Norio Sakurai. In the same year, it then transferred to a web manga site, Champion Cross (eventually becoming Manga Cross). As of 2022, seven volumes of the manga have been released.
In 2020, an English publication of the manga was licensed by Seven Seas Entertainment. It has since released four volumes, with the fifth volume coming soon this December.
It is also worth noting that in 2020, the Anime Japan website held a poll for manga readers about their wanted anime adaptations. The Dangers in My Heart ranked fourth in this poll, alongside SPYxFAMILY, Komi Can’t Communicate, and Chainsaw Man.
