On Thursday, the official website for Rakudai Majo: Fuuka to Yami no Majo (The Klutzy Witch: Fuuka and the Dark Witch), the anime film based on Satoko Narita’s children’s book series The Klutzy Witch (Rakudai Majo), began streaming a new teaser video for the film. The teaser trailer discloses more cast members for the film, as well as the film’s March 31 release date.

The teaser also revealed new cast members who play essential characters for the development of the storyline. The New cast members include:

  • Kensho Ono (the voice of Yuri Briar from Spy X Family) as Keith, a mysterious boy known as the Prince of the Black Castle
  • Ayane Sakura (the voice of Uraraka Ochaco from My Hero Academia) as Lilica, a purple-haired girl who is key to the story

Meanwhile, the already-announced main cast of the anime film includes:

  • Honoka Inoue as Fūka 
  • Mutsumi Tamura (the voice of Kosuke Kumagaya from Drifting Home) as Chitose, Fūka’s childhood friend
  • Manaka Iwami (the voice of Tohru Honda from Fruits Basket) as Kari, another of Fūka’s childhood friends

The book series is set in a fantastic universe populated by witches and wizards. The plot follows Fuka, a clumsy apprentice witch, as she breaches the seal of a dark witch who nearly destroyed the world.

Production I.G’s Takayuki Hamana (The Beast Player Erin, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Reflection, The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed By Light) is directing the film. The script is being written by Kiyoko Yoshimura (Riddle Story of Devil, Cardfight!! Vanguard G, takt op. Destiny). The characters are being designed by Marumi Sugita (chief animation director of Selection Project).

Rakudai Majo wa Princess (The Klutzy Witch Is a Princess) was released in October 2006. The series consists of 17 books and one collection of short stories. Rakudai Majo to Yami no Kyden (The Klutzy Witch and the Dark Palace), his most recent work, was released in October 2013.
