Anime and RPG fans alike are sure to welcome 2023 with a blast! The official website of the upcoming The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel Northern War, the TV anime adaptation of Nihon Falcom’s The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel game series, revealed it will premiere in January 2023. The website also named seven new cast additions for the much-awaited series, including game characters Rean and Altina.
Crunchyroll shared what the newly-announced cast members had to say. Find out how they reacted to the announcement below:

“It blows my mind to think that it’s been about ten years since the first Trails of Cold Steel game was released. Time goes by so quickly. I was also incredibly curious to see how Rean would fit into this anime adaptation of the Trails of Cold Steel series. Please look forward to next year’s broadcast.”

“The Trails of Cold Steel series is coming your way in anime form! Unlike a game where only my voice was recorded, acting out Altina’s character along with video from the anime during the dubbing allowed me to experience some new discoveries and feelings. The distance between her and Rean is one of the aspects that makes Altina so adorable, so look forward to seeing it!”

“Trails of Cold Steel… What a title. Every winner eventually becomes a loser, and even the winner… This project skillfully depicts the moments of radiance generated by those living as earnestly and sincerely as they can, and I’m truly happy to have had the opportunity to be a part of it.”

“I consider it an honor to take part in the anime adaptation of this long-running legend of heroes. How will my character, Jayna, fit in with so many charming characters as they clash and mature? I hope those who are familiar with the original work, as well as those who aren’t, will look forward to it.”

“I have had the privilege of working on the Trails series for many years now through Agate and Wallace, who have always been truly special to me, and now I get to add Rogan to that list with the anime adaptation. I couldn’t be more grateful! Please keep an eye on all the characters and watch over their lives in this anime.”
Jun Fukushima, who will be voicing Ivano, and Ryuichi Kijima, who will be playing Tak, also shared a few words to the fans.
“Hello, I’m Fukushima Jun, the voice of the mysterious masked soldier. Hehehe, I know what you’re all wondering: is he a hottie under that mask? I bet your curiosity is keeping you up at night! And the answer is… you’ll have to watch the anime and find out,” said Fukushima.
“I’m Kijima Ryuichi, and I’ll be providing the voice of Tak. I never thought I’d have the opportunity to be a part of the historic Trails of Cold Steel series, and I’m truly honored. Tak normally seems rather detached and lethargic, but will he get to show off his badass side as a Northern Jaeger? Maybe, maybe not. Look forward to it,” shared Kijima.
