If you haven’t been keeping up with the latest news on the Tokyo Revengers Manga, you must still be in a state of shock, but Ken Wakui’s Tokyo Revengers Manga ended on the 9th of November 2022. However, some fans are not quite pleased with how the conclusion went.
Ever since its rise to popularity last 2021, Tokyo Revengers has swooned many fans with the outstanding visuals, personality, and development of its characters. The conclusion of the manga received mixed reactions from fans. Some say it was bittersweet, and others say it was straight-up disappointing. Many fans took to Twitter to express how they felt while reading the end of the said manga.
Here are some tweets about its conclusion:
The plot of the story revolves around a somewhat isekai-like story of Takemichi Hanagaki who was experiencing a mid-life crisis. Takemichi’s life became stagnant after middle school, it seemed like much of his regret came from that particular time in his life as well. The story of the manga is a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Along with the turning of the pages was the burning of bridges, and the fans liked the thrill.
However, during the conclusion of the manga, the author decided that he would keep all of the characters of the series alive, healthy, and kicking (something that would be a definite win for most of the shounen manga fans). But Tokyo Revenger is a delinquent manga, and with that genre comes death. This was why many were greatly disappointed with how the author of the hit manga put an end to the story of Takemichi and the ToMan gang.
In March 2017, Wakui published the comic in Weekly Shounen Magazine. Kodansha released the manga’s 29th compiled book volume on August 17, and the 30th volume will be released on November 17.
The television anime adaptation of the manga debuted in April 2021. Crunchyroll broadcast the anime live as it aired in Japan. In January, the anime’s “Seiya Kessen” (“Christmas Showdown”) arc will premiere.
What do you think about the conclusion of the manga?
