Tokyo Revengers manga just officially concluded, with the ending causing controversy among fans. Most of them have mixed reactions, but the prevailing consensus is that the ending is disappointing.
Interestingly, it was also announced in Weekly Shounen Magazine issue no. 51 that Tokyo Revengers manga will be receiving a special arc that will be shown in an exhibit in November 2023. This will be revealed by the author, Ken Wakui and it will be in Roppongi, Tokyo. The specific date and venue are yet to be announced, as well as other details like tickets and more.
This special arc is meant to commemorate the 1-year anniversary of the manga’s end. What the special arc is about was not disclosed. What do you think it’s going to be? What do you want it to be?
Aside from the special arc, the spin-off manga, Tokyo Revengers Extra will also start serialization on the Kodansha’s Weekly Shounen Magazine. It will have 8 chapters that explore that backstories of the Tokyo Manji Gang founders. The chapter 1 is titled, “The Wounded Tiger”.
Tokyo Revengers Synopsis
Takemichi Hanagaki is at his lowest point at the present time. To add salt to the wound, he found out that his ex-girlfriend, Hinata Tachibana, died at the hands of the vicious Tokyo Manji Gang. They have been disturbing the peace for quite some time now.
Just as when Takemichi has started to lose all hope, he managed to travel back in time when he was still dating Hinata. This was when he was a second year student in middle school. He was at his peak, as he had a group of supportive friends that contrasts his present adult life.
Since he has the ability to change the flow of time, Takemichi aims to prevent Hinata from meeting her demise. So he infiltrated the Tokyo Manji Gang and intends to climb up the ranks so that Hinata will be saved.

Tokyo Revengers Anime Background
The 1st season of Tokyo Revengers aired last April to September 19, 2021 with a total of 24 episodes. It was produced by LIDENFILMS. The upcoming season 2, Christmas Showdown arc, is slated to premiere in January 2023.
The anime has proved to be popular, as Nikkei Entertainment magazine emphasized it to be one of 2021’s biggest hits. It was also stated to be one of the most-watched anime series for male and female audiences. Furthermore, Tokyo Revengers is also one of the most discussed TV shows on Twitter – ranking 7th on Twitter’s 2021 data report.
Tokyo Revengers Manga Background
Ken Wakui is the author and illustrator of Tokyo Revengers. It was serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shounen Magazine on March 1, 2017 to November 16, 2022. Kodansha published the 1st volume in paperback and e-book in May 2017. The 30th volume is set to be released on November 17, 2022.
Kodansha USA is publishing the manga into English, releasing the 1st volume last October 2018. As of October 2022, there are 27 volumes available.
