The official Twitter account for the Uma Musume Pretty Derby franchise has announced that the anime’s third season is set to premiere in 2023. The announcement came with a teaser visual and promotional video that fans can check out!

Production Team Returning Cast:
- Kei Oikawa is directing the anime at Studio KAI
- Yousuke Kabashima and Tomoko Tsuji are returning as co-character designers
- Satoru Fujimoto and Manabu Nii return as chief animation director
- Shingo Nagai and Tetsuya Kobari are handling series composition
Uma Musume Pretty Derby: Road to the Top Net Anime
The franchise’s YouTube channel also began streaming a promotional video for the Uma Musume Pretty Derby: Road to the Top anime, and it reveals that the anime will debut on YouTube on April 16 at 9:00 p.m. JST. The net anime is separate from the third television anime season. It will depict T.M. Opera O, Admire Vega, Narita Top Road, and other Uma Musume (Horse Girls) going head-to-head to win classic competitions.
Previous Seasons and Spinoffs:
The Uma Musume Pretty Derby television anime premiered its first 13-episode season in April 2018, with Crunchyroll streaming it as it aired in Japan. A “BNW no Chikai” (BNW’s Oath) anime was also bundled with the Uma Musume Pretty Derby television anime’s fourth Blu-ray Disc volume in December 2018. The second season of the main Uma Musume Pretty Derby television anime premiered in January 2021, with Crunchyroll also streaming it. The third season is currently in production.

The franchise also includes a spinoff manga series called Umayon, which inspired its own television anime that aired from July to September 2020. A special anime commemorating the first anniversary of the game was also released online in February 2022, and a new short anime series titled Uma Yuru debuted on October 16.
The Uma Musume Pretty Derby game:
The Uma Musume Pretty Derby game, which launched in February 2021 for iOS and Android, lets players become both teacher and trainer for the girls at the Nihon Uma Musume Training Center Gakuen (Japan Horse Girls Training Center Academy). Cygames is also publishing several other spinoff manga for the franchise on Cycomi, including Uma Musume Pretty Derby: Haru Urara Ganbaru! and Starting Gate: Uma Musume Pretty Derby.
