Uncle From Another World announced its reschedule date for episode 8 after its initial indefinite delay due to COVID-19. Its new release date will be November 24 at the earliest. Their broadcast schedule for airing episode reruns for October was also shared.
Episode 1 will be having its rerun first, and it will be followed sequentially in the given broadcast schedule. Check it below:
- AT-X – October 6, 2022 (Every Thursday, 22:30 ~ 10:30 PM) *There will be repeated reruns starting from October 10, 2022 (Every Monday, 10:30 AM) and October 12, 2022 (Every Wednesday, 16:30 ~ 4:30 PM)
- BS11 – October 6, 2022 (Every Thursday, 25:00 ~ 1:00 AM)
- TOKYO MX – October 7, 2022 (Every Friday, 25:35 ~ 1:35 AM)
- TV Aichi – October 11, 2022 (Every Tuesday, 26:05 ~ 2:05 AM)
- KBS Kyoto – October 8, 2022 (Every Saturday, 23:30 ~ 11:30 PM)
- sun tv – October 8,2022 (Every Saturday, 24:30 ~ 12:30 AM)
Episode 8 will also premiere on November 25, 2022 (Every Friday, 25:35 ~ 1:35 AM). There are no specifications yet about the premiere time of each broadcast channels. There are also no confirmation yet on its definite Netflix release date.

Uncle From Another World is a story about a nephew and uncle duo. Takafumi Takaoka was informed that his uncle, Yousuke “Ojisan” Shibazaki woke up from his 17-year comatose. Ojisan started speaking differently, claiming that he went into a magical world during his coma. Takafumi did not believe it at first, until he witnessed Ojisan made a cup of water hover in the air. The pair of them decided to create a YouTube channel for Ojisan to show his magical abilities. Since Ojisan missed almost two-decades worth of life, Takafumi has the responsibility of updating his uncle of what has happened. Particularly, updates about videos games, as Ojisan is a SEGA fan.
Episode 8 was originally supposed to air last September 7, 2022. It also suffered from a two-week delay last August 2022 with its episode 5. COVID-19 was also the reason for this.
Uncle From Another World is authored and illustrated by Hotondoshindeiru in 2018. It is being published and serialized on Kadokawa Shoten’s Comic Walker website. The 8th volume became available last August 2022. Yen Press also acquired the license to publish the manga in English in 2020. There have been 5 volumes so far, with the 6th volume on sale soon in February 2023.
It also gained recognition when it was one of the top 20 Web Category Winners in the 5th Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Awards in 2019 – ranking 8th. It was also one of the 15 most recommended manga books in Japanese bookstores in 2020, as voted by the bookstore employees.
Uncle From Another World was first aired last July 6, 2022 in select Japanese broadcast channels and on Netflix worldwide. Atelier Pontdarc is the studio in-charge of the anime production.
