Saitama’s most notable weakness is his lack of proper fighting technique and intelligence. Saitama is often depicted as an overpowered character with immense strength. However, despite his incredible power, Saitama is not without his weaknesses.
Saitama vs. Mosquito
In episode two of One Punch Man’s first season, Saitama tries to hit a mosquito, we see him miss his aim over and over again. Despite his immense strength, Saitama’s difficulty in hitting small and fast-moving targets highlights his limitations in combat. It can be assumed that if Saitama were to lose his sense of sight or hearing, he would struggle even more, as his normal abilities to detect his surroundings would be hindered. This might seem like a weakness that his enemies could exploit, but it is mostly played off as comic relief.

Saitama vs. Garou
However, this weakness was taken advantage of by Garou in chapter 163 of One Punch Man. During their fight, Garou, being a highly skilled martial artist, was quick to recognize Saitama’s lack of proper fighting technique as his greatest weakness in combat. He stated that his Ultimate Martial Arts Technique allowed him to see the openings in Saitama’s moves and take advantage of them.
The root cause of this weakness lies in Saitama’s training regimen. Unlike other heroes in the Heroes Association who trained in specific martial arts forms, Saitama only undertook basic training, which focused on building his strength and endurance. This lack of specialization in a particular fighting style left him open to attacks that could be countered through the proper technique.

Saitama vs. King
Saitama’s limitations extend beyond just his struggles in his limited combat experience. Another notable weakness of his is his lack of skills when it comes to playing video games. He often performs poorly in games and lacks the intelligence to comprehend how he keeps losing. This is especially evident when he plays against King, one of his closest friends, who consistently beat him in their gaming sessions. Saitama seems puzzled and bewildered as to how King is able to constantly outwit him in these virtual battles, showcasing his lack of intelligence and combat planning in this area.
Saitama’s Other Weaknesses
Cats and missed bargain sales are also weaknesses of Saitama that can hinder him in unexpected ways. However, it is his lack of proper fighting technique and lack of intellectual training that pose the greatest threat to him in combat. Saitama’s reliance on his immense physical strength has often overshadowed the need for proper technique and strategy in battles. This can leave him vulnerable to opponents who are well-versed in combat tactics and are able to outmaneuver him.
Despite these limitations, Saitama’s weaknesses can be overcome through diligent training and the acquisition of the necessary skills. By developing his fighting technique and enhancing his intellectual prowess, Saitama can further improve himself and become an even more formidable force in battles.
