If you’re new to watching Spy x Family, you’ve probably heard of the Elite Eden academy and how every student of that academy has only one worst nightmare: the Tonitrus bolt. The Tonitrus Bolt is basically a demerit given to a student, and when they get eight of it, they are immediately expelled from the school (Spoiler alert, Anya currently has two already, and Loid also fainted two times because of it).
Eden Academy is widely recognized as the best school in the country. It has over 2500 students ranging in age from 6 to 19. Its rigid instruction, as well as the fact that many of its students and alumni hail from notable families, has made it exceedingly popular for families to enroll their children. Some parents even offer “donations” to enroll their children or to purchase excellent results, however, it has been stated that the headmaster and school administration are not readily bought.

There is a chasm between alumni families and first-generation students, which leads to bullying and discrimination in the student population.
The admissions procedure is divided into two stages: the entrance exam and the family interview. Following the successful completion of the admission exam, the family is expected to attend an obligatory family interview, which must involve both parents.
There are two types of point systems in the academy, one for excellency, and the other for demerits.
Stella Stars are medals that are awarded for merit. Stella Stars are given out for outstanding grades and contributions to society. Stella Stars have also been given out for long-term volunteer work and exceptional achievements, such as saving lives or supporting law enforcement.
On the other hand, Tonitrus Bolts are demerits given to students who have received bad grades or have engaged in wrongdoing; receiving eight results in automatic expulsion. It has been demonstrated that a high-ranking faculty member can, at their discretion, reduce the quantity of Tonitrus Bolts gained from a misdemeanor.
