The spring anime season for 2023 is nearly here, and there is plenty of series to select from. While several are available on Crunchyroll, the streaming site HIDIVE is expected to provide certain anime game-changers beginning next month. Today, the platform has revealed a list of some of the major anime adaptations that we can expect to see in April and beyond, and some of them are sure to catch the interest of the anime-loving public out there.
HIDIVE is now one of the most significant streaming competitors to Crunchyroll, which concentrates mostly on the anime game. HIDIVE is attempting to establish a position in the anime industry with exclusives such as Eminence in Shadow, Urusei Yatsura, Cry of The Night, I’m Leaving Heroing, and Made in Abyss, to name a few. This is certainly true for this year’s spring season, in which the streaming service will offer a number of anime exclusives straight from Japan.
More about HIDIVE
HIDIVE said earlier this month that it will collaborate with Japan’s MBS Network to provide additional anime exclusives to the platform in the future. After the announcement, John Ledford, the current president of HIDIVE and Sentai Filmworks, had this to say about the collaboration:
“This is a truly historic agreement for HIDIVE and is the culmination of our partnership with MBS. This output deal cements Sentai’s position as one of the world’s most established and leading suppliers of popular and high-quality anime content. But not only that, The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: from Villainess to Savior and the other series will significantly elevate HIDIVE’s reputation with fans as not only the new go-to anime streaming platform but also as the pipeline to some of Japan’s most highly anticipated titles.”
This spring anime season is one of the busiest in recent memory, with series like Demon Slayer, Dr. Stone, Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury, and many more making significant returns. As HIDIVE and Crunchyroll vie for anime dominance, there are several more contestants in the running. Anime exclusives are also on the way from Netflix and Disney+.
