In the first season of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation, fans have not only witnessed the perky and perverted side of Rudeus Greyrat but have also lauded his immense magical abilities and skills, as well as his exceptional role as the strategist in every battle he gets himself into.
Rudeus is a reincarnated NEET from modern-day Japan into the parallel world of magic and swords. It is common for isekaid characters to have some sort of cheat skill to bring with them in the parallel world. In Rudeus’ case, he could carry all of his memories and knowledge from his past life. This became his most significant advantage. Rudeus maintaining his memories from his previous life led him to become one of the most powerful characters in the series. It also enabled him to become a tutor at the age of seven.
How Strong is Rudeus Greyrat?
Rudeus Greyrat suffered a lot in his previous life. He was not a shut-in who willingly exiled himself from everyone’s life and got addicted to games. Rudeus was abandoned by society. He was painfully bullied and degraded by everyone. Hence, when reincarnated, he was determined to live his life differently. Let’s take a look at his notable achievement as he grows older!
Rudeus Greyrat From Infancy to 10 years old
With his consciousness as a grown-up man still with his reincarnated body, Rudeus was indeed an extraordinary kid. His maturity and actions have both been praised by his parents, and was feared by their housemaid, Lilia. Rudeus’ motivation to live his isekai life without regrets allowed him to start his journey of becoming strong even in infancy.

Yes, Rudeus may not have spoken immediately like Anos Voldigoad from The Misfit of Demon King Academy. However, his still existing consciousness as a 34 years old man guided him in making significant steps in the parallel world even as a baby. Although he may be the main character of the series, Rudeus also had to work hard, like anyone, to get to where he is now.
As a baby, Rudeus already started reading all the books available at their home. This includes books about magic and the world’s language. This made it easier for him to adjust himself and hone his skills at an early age. After spending almost all his time reading instead of playing like a normal kid, Rudeus started to practice his magic skills secretly.

His intense practice also ended up destroying a wall inside their house. This did not make his parents mad. Instead, they were overjoyed to find out that their son was a genius, especially his mother.

At age 3, Paul Greyrat hired Roxy Migurdia, a traveling tutor, to help his son mold his skills further as a magician. Rudeus Greyrat learned a lot from Roxy. Rudeus Greyrat is a developing character like most in the series. He may be talented and gifted. However, one thing that makes him worthy of all the praise is his work ethic. He aspires self-improvement above all else and takes all of his training seriously. He willingly adjusts based on his allies’ advice and continues to gain a broader range of knowledge and understanding about the parallel world.
Rudeus Greyrat’s Skills and Abilities
Based on his achievements from infancy until he was 13, Rudeus is undoubtedly a skilled magician and swordsman, showcasing mastery in combat and magic. But through all his adventure in seasons, Rudeus have learned, mastered, and received magical abilities that help him through his trying times.
Let’s look back on all the magical abilities that Rudeus utilized in Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation season one.
Voiceless Incantation

One of the abilities that set Rudeus apart from most of the characters is his ability to conduct voiceless incantations. As mentioned, Rudeus is naturally hardworking. Hence, his curiosity about the parallel world led him to read books about magic in his infancy, which became a way for him to discover that chanting is not necessary for casting magic. Well, that is only for his case, of course.
Other magic users need at most thirty seconds to cast a powerful spell, while Rudeus can do it instantly, regardless of its difficulty. Many have praised this ability of the reincarnated hero. At the same time, it had saved him and his friend in times when they were all in a pinch.
Demon Eye (Foresight Eyes)

As someone who still lacks in close combat, the Demon Eye truly fits Rudeus Greyrat. This ability was given to him by Kishirika Kishirisu as a gift of gratitude for giving her food when she needed it. The Demon Eye, also known as Foresight Eyes, allows Rudeus to see a few seconds from the future.
The Demon Eye requires a large amount of mana to gain control of it fully. Many Demon Eye users who cannot control the said ability use eye patches unless they use them in a battle. However, Rudeus was able to gain control of it only a few minutes after it was bestowed to him and used it to defeat Ruijered during their combat training.
Magic (Earth, Water, Fire, Wind)

With his advanced knowledge of magic, Rudeus easily learned to manipulate the different elements. In fact, he can even cast them at the same time or simultaneously in both hands. By combining his newly gained knowledge and his previous ones, Rudeus have mastered powerful magic spells and continues to learn more.
Some of the magic spells he used were Nuclear Explosion, Disturb Magic, Earth Pillars, Squall Spell, Absolute Zero, and Sonic Boom. All these spells were cast by Rudeus during season 1 of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation. This strongly implies that only at the age of 13, Rudeus remarkably adjusted himself to the parallel world and was able to stand above others as well.
So will Rudeus Greyrat become stronger in Mushoku Tensei season 2? There is no doubt that the answer to that is a big YES! Will he become a God like Orsted? Unfortunately, no. Rudeus will become one of the world’s Seven Great Powers; however, he will be the only member who will not have a God rank. However, the fact that he is included is already a huge thing!
So far, Rudeus has had notable achievements even with only 13 years as Mushoku Tensei’s reincarnated hero. Hence, fans can expect that in the upcoming season of the anime adaptation, Rudeus will gain more abilities, skills, experience, and allies.
