This is because King Bosse made a deal with a demon to become the strongest man in the world. However, as a repercussion, his firstborn child, Boji, was born deaf, small, and “weak,” since his strength and power were passed on to King Bosse.
Bosse is a known adventurer and one of the most powerful giants in the world, yet he remained unsatisfied. He journeyed from different countries seeking a worthy opponent to challenge his strength. At the start of the tale, Prince Boji faced skepticism from many due to his young age and diminutive size, despite being a pure-blood giant. Furthermore, he lacked the expected qualities of a ruler due to his distinct personality.
In the 1st episode of the anime, Prince Boji was observed strolling around the streets without any clothing, demonstrating an utter disregard for others’ opinions or thoughts. Consequently, the citizens of the realm couldn’t help but express concern regarding what the future held if Prince Boji ascended to the throne.

Moreover, the 2nd episode of the anime portrayed a duel between Prince Boji, the first heir, and his younger brother, Daida, to determine who was more deserving of the crown. In the 3rd episode of the anime, Prince Daida has proclaimed the new monarch of the kingdom, which came as a surprise to many, including Prince Boji himself. Devastated by this news, Prince Boji departed the palace in tears, his aspiration of becoming the most powerful king crushed as he was not selected to lead the kingdom that his father had intended for him. Prince Boji almost abandoned his future, but with the aid of his friend, Kage, he found the strength to embark on his true journey. Together, the first prince and Kage resolved to leave the kingdom to locate the individual who could help Boji become stronger.

Who Is Kage?
Kage is a significant character in The Ranking of Kings anime. He is the sole best friend of Prince Boji and has been a constant source of support for the first prince throughout his trials and tribulations, going as far as to willingly lay down his life for him.
Besides being an emotional pillar for Prince Boji, Kage is renowned for his compassion and charm, despite hailing from the Shadow Clan – the Shadow Clan is recognized for producing exceptional assassins who are frequently employed by nobles to eliminate specific targets or foes. As typical of assassins, they strike during the night when their capabilities are at their peak. Members of the Shadow Clan reside in the shadows or dimly lit areas, as darkness serves as the foundation of their power. Despite their presence, the kingdom’s ruler has welcomed them and does not consider them a threat. Consequently, everyone in the realm lives in harmony.

However, on one fateful day, a member of the Light Clan named Geslan stirred up the king’s wrath, calling for the elimination of the Shadow Clan. As a result, the knights aided by the Light Clan began a manhunt for the Shadow Clan. The Shadow Clan, being vulnerable during the day, was ambushed and systematically wiped out, one member at a time. Fortunately, Kage and his mother managed to escape the castle, where most of their kin were slain. Regrettably, the Light Clan showed no mercy and resolved to eradicate every last member of the Shadow Clan. Owing to their use of horses, the Light Clan was able to catch up to Kage and his mother.
Without any other recourse, Kage’s mother chose to stay behind to give her son a chance to escape safely. Knowing her fate, she fought fiercely to ensure Kage’s survival. Sadly, she was brutally slain by the Light Clan. Meanwhile, a few knights and Light Clan members pursued Kage in an attempt to kill him. Fortunately, Kage managed to evade his pursuers with the help of Lady Poise, the Count’s daughter. While on the run, Kage encountered Lady Poise, who concealed him inside her doll. Ultimately, Kage survived, but he was the lone surviving member of the Shadow Clan after the massacre.

Boji’s Training in Becoming the Strongest
In the 6th episode of the anime, Boji, together with Domas and Hokuro, embarked on a quest to find a means of enhancing Boji’s strength. However, their journey was far from seamless, and they had already encountered numerous obstacles before reaching their destination. Notably, Domas, one of King Bosse’s most powerful knights who had been entrusted with protecting Boji, had tried to eliminate the first prince on the orders of King Daida.
Fortunately, with Bebin’s guidance, Kage had been surreptitiously concealed inside Boji’s bag, allowing him to thwart all of Domas’ efforts to harm Boji. However, in Domas’ final attempt, he almost succeeded in killing Boji by pushing him towards the entrance of the Underworld, where deadly flames spewed intermittently. But once again, thanks to Kage’s quick thinking, they managed to evade death.
After losing consciousness, Boji and Kage were brought to King Desha’s castle, where they mistakenly believed that he was the individual recommended by Bebin. However, Boji was subjected to ridicule and mockery due to his perceived lack of qualities as a suitable king. When Kage presented the recommendation letter from Bebin, King Desha became enraged and tore it to pieces. In the end, he declared that it was impossible for Boji to become stronger and ordered the two out of his castle. Fortunately, one of the knights from the Underworld took pity on Prince Boji and revealed that the person they were actually searching for was King Desha’s younger brother, Prince Despa. Armed with this knowledge, the two left the castle in pursuit of Prince Despa.

Skipping ahead, when Boji and Kage eventually met Prince Despa, they were surprised to discover that he was not the person they had imagined. Nevertheless, the rumor that Prince Despa had the ability to make anyone stronger proved to be true, as he affirmed. According to Prince Despa, he could help individuals unleash their full potential as long as they possessed the necessary skills and bravery. However, when it was time to determine if Boji had any latent strength, Prince Despa revealed that Boji did not possess any physical power. Nevertheless, just as Boji was about to lose hope, Prince Despa interceded and stated that there was another way for him to become stronger.
Following several days of intense training, Boji was observed exerting himself and striving to achieve his aspiration. One day, while Kage was tidying the house, a loud noise emanated from the training room. Upon investigating, Prince Despa opened the door slightly and assured Kage that everything was under control. However, Kage was astounded when he caught sight of Boji standing beside an enormous rock that had been split in two.

How Is Boji the Strongest Character in Ranking of Kings?
In the 10th episode of the anime, Boji’s strength was finally showcased when he rendered three individuals unconscious with slight pressure on their chins.
