The staff of the anime series What God Does in a World Without Gods (Kaminaki Sekai no Kamisama Katsudō) announced the anime’s April premiere along with the show’s theme song artists. The opening theme song “I Wish” will be performed by Rin Kurisu, and the ending theme song “Steppin’ Up Life!”, will be performed by Akari Kitō, who voices Mitama in the series.

The manga series was first serialized in Hero Inc’s seinen manga magazine Monthly Hero’s from May 2019 to October 2020 before being transferred to the Comiplex website in November 2020. As of November 2022, six tankōbon volumes of the manga have been collected.

What God Does in a World Without Gods centers on the life of Yukito, the heir of a questionable cult leader. He passes away in an unfortunate death caused by the cult’s incredulous training practices. and reincarnates in a world without the concept of god and religion. Creating a “religion” in a universe devoid of God?!? This is the start of an unusual “reincarnating in another world” trip.
