Anime films are being released in theaters regularly, owing to the medium’s growing popularity. Dragon Ball, One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen, My Hero Academia, and many other franchises are making significant comebacks on the big screen. While a Solo Leveling film has yet to be announced, fans will be able to see the first two episodes in cinemas, yet anime lovers in North America may be out of luck when it comes to one of the biggest new anime releases next year.
For those looking for a crash education in Solo Leveling, the story debuted in 2018 as a South Korean “web novel,” following an unhappy protagonist named Jinwoo Sung as he falls to the bottom of his fatal job.
Sung is trapped in his work to help feed his family, and the protagonist marches on to survive and profit from his horrific struggles. A-1 Pictures will produce the series, which anime fans may recognize from their work on Lycoris Recoil, Mashle: Magic And Muscles, Kaguya-Sama: Love is War, and Sword Art Online, to name a few.
While the next anime adaptation will be released in cinemas, it will only be available in France, Germany, and the United Kingdom (currently). Still, if you want to see the first two episodes on the big screen next month, these are the dates for when the series will be released:
- France: Le Grand Rex, Paris (December 12th)
- Germany: Colosseum, Berlin (December 12th)
- United Kingdom: London, Cineworld Leicester Square (December 13th)
