2024 is definitely the year for BL anime and manga fans alike! Suiseisha has announced the cast and visuals for the AnimeFesta (previously Anime Zone and ComicFesta Anime) anime version of Ao Yūki’s The Perfect Prince Loves Me, His Rival?!. The manga “Ateuma Chara no Kuse Shite, Spadali Ōji ni Chōai Sarete Imasu” will be released on Thursday.
AnimeFesta’s toridori guys love brand has planned an anime adaptation for June 2023. As for the official title of the series, Suiseisha has verified with ANN that the show’s English title is The Perfect Prince Loves Me, the Side Character?!. Suiseisha has also developed an English-language anime website, and Coolmic is providing the first six chapters of the original manga in English for free.
The official cast of the series as confirmed by Suiseisha includes:
- Santa Hiiragi as Alec Rey Garcium
- Haru Danji as Loneal Gravis
The anime’s official website revealed the promotional video and staff for the anime last January 10.
As with many past AnimeFesta anime, there will be two versions: a “broadcast” version (censored and televised on television) and a “premium” uncensored version available online. The VIP version will be live on the AnimeFesta website in mid-March. The broadcast version will air on Tokyo MX and BS11 on April 7.
Coolmic distributes the manga in English as The Perfect Prince Loves Me, His Rival?! It summarizes the story:
“I’ve always…wanted to touch you.” The dashing prince meets me, the loser’s rival love interest. Although we should be fighting over the heroine…why does the prince have his sights set on me?!
Yuki debuted the manga on WWWave Corporation’s ComicFesta website in 2022.
WWWave Corporation owns the ComicFesta web manga service and the AnimeFesta anime television block. Over the last six years, AnimeFesta (previously Anime Zone and ComicFesta Anime) has created short anime adaptations of over 25 ComicFesta manga, many of which are adult or provocative in nature.
