The entire promotional video for Fumita Yanagida’s romantic comedy manga Tomo-chan Is A Girl! (Tomo-chan wa Onna no Ko!) has begun streaming ong Aniplex’s official YouTube channel. The PV announced the anime’s January 4 launch date as well as its closing theme “yurukuru*love.” The closing theme is performed by the cast members Rie Takahashi (Tomo), Rina Hidaka (Misuzu), and Sally Amaki (Carol). More staff members as well as a new anime key visual were also revealed on the anime’s website.

The anime is set to have 13 episodes and will be released in six Blu-ray Disc/DVD volumes.
Crunchyroll will be streaming it as it airs in January. The first two episodes of the anime were presented at this year’s Anime NYC event.
The manga is published in English by Seven Seas Entertainment, which sums up the plot as follows:
Boyish high school girl Tomo Aizawa finally manages to tell her childhood friend Jun that she’s got a crush on him. Unfortunately, her confession goes right over his head—he didn’t even realize she was a girl until middle school, and even now, Jun still thinks of her as a bro! How can Tomo-chan possibly convince him otherwise and win Jun’s heart?
Tomo-chan Is a Girl! started as a four-panel manga series written and illustrated by Fumita Yanagida. From April 2015 to July 2019, it was serialized on the Twi4 Twitter account and the Saizensen website, and it was published in eight volumes by Kodansha. Seven Seas Entertainment announced that they licensed the series for an English release.
