To commemorate Vinland Saga’s season 2 TV anime, all 24 episodes of Vinland Saga season 1 will be available free to watch on the YouTube channel Full ☆ Anime TV from January 3 to January 9, 2023.

Vinland Saga season 2 will start broadcasting on Tokyo MX, BS11 and other networks from January 9, 2023 and will be broadcasted every Monday. It will be released outside Japan through streaming services like Netflix, Crunchyroll among others.
The second season’s trailer premiered on MAPPA’s official YouTube channel on December 19, 2022, featuring a new ending song titled “Without Love” by LMYK that expresses “love, loss and freedom”. The song is LMYK’s newest single. It is produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and will be available on digital platforms on February 7, 2023. The staff of the series previously revealed that the opening theme song “River” is performed by Anonymouz.
The second season of the anime is confirmed to also have 24 episodes. MAPPA is now handling the animation of the series instead of WIT which worked on the anime’s first season.

WHAT IS VINLAND SAGA ABOUT?

Vinland Saga centers on the life of Thorfinn, a son of one of the Viking’s greatest warriors. Thorfinn vows vengeance when his father is killed in battle by the mercenary leader Askeladd. He then joins Askeladd’s party to challenge him to a duel, but instead finds himself caught up in a war for the throne of England.
Vinland Saga started as a manga series written and illustrated by Makoto Yukimura. The series is published by Kodansha and was first serialized in the boys youth-targeted manga magazine Shōnen Magazine before switching to Monthly Afternoon, which is geared towards young adult men.
As of May 2022, its chapters had been collected in 26t tankōbon volumes. Kodansha USA has acquired the English publication rights of the series. As of August 2022, Vinland Saga had over 7 million copies in circulation.
The series was awarded the 36th Kodansha Manga Award for Best General Manga, as well as the Grand Prize at the 13th Japan Media Arts Festival. The anime adaptation received widespread acclaim, with some critics hailing it as one of the best anime series of 2019.
