Will Anya Ever Be Friends With Damian?

Let’s be honest here, Damian and Anya interactions are the cutest thing you see in the whole series of Spy x Family. Their chemistry is just as adorable as their little kid fights! Anya and Damian have been sworn enemies from the beginning but fights only build stronger bonds, therefore, it is undeniable that Anya and Damian will eventually see each other as friends (or possibly something more) in the later parts of the story.

Tatsuya Endo’s Spy x Family centers around the life of the Forger Family, more specifically, Twilight, who is on a one-man mission to prevent the war between the East and the West. In order to fulfill his mission, Twilight disguises himself as Loid Forger, he is tasked to build a family that is perfect enough for the great school, Eden. With the task at hand, he decides to adopt a child, and this child is later known as Anya Forger, a telepath.

However, a family won’t be “complete” without a mother, and by some chance encounter, Loid meets Yor Briar and because of Anya’s tactics, they form an alliance. Unbeknownst to Loid, Yor is also wearing her own disguise. She is the Thorn Princess, a notorious assassin. With a spy, an assassin, and a telepath (and now even a dog who can see the future), they continue their quest to world peace.

Anya’s part of the mission is to get the “second son” of the owner of the school (the key figure in obtaining world peace), to like her. She’s done every possible thing to get him to look at her, but he just would not budge. But that’s only what she thinks. In actuality, Damian Desmond likes Anya. Like… likes her. In every panel of the manga, and every scene in the anime, the only times we get to see Anya the most beautiful is when we see her from Damian’s point of view.

So yes, Anya and Damian will be friends. The reason why it isn’t exactly a far-off dream to see their friendship blossom is that Damian is very bad at expressing his emotions, but Anya is really really good at allowing him to let it all out.
