A new storyline and set of characters will take flight in Fujita’s new manga, and it’s completely different from his hit office romance series. On January 25, Ichijinsha announced the debut of a new web manga label called comic HOWL, which would focus on Vocaloid, horror, and “emotional youth” topics. The site already has a handful of comics available, and additional manga will be released in February and throughout the spring.
This month, Fujita (Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku) will release Villain, while Hazuki Takeoka and Tiv will release the Masamune-kun no Revenge Mission (tentative title) manga later this spring.
Fujita’s new Villain manga is based on Teniwoha’s “Villain” song, which was released in February 2020.
In 2014, Fujita released the Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku manga (Otaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii) on the image-sharing website Pixiv. The comic was transferred to Ichijinsha’s Comic POOL digital manga magazine in November 2015. With 11 volumes, the manga finished in July 2021. The manga will be published in English by Kodansha USA Publishing. A spinoff of the manga will appear on Pixiv’s digital manga service comic Pool.

The manga was adapted into an 11-episode television anime series, which debuted in April 2018. The anime was available on Amazon Prime Video both inside and outside of Japan. In March 2019, the manga’s seventh volume included the first original animation DVD. In February 2021, the 10th volume included the second original animation DVD. In October 2021, the 11th volume included the third original animation DVD. In February 2020, a live-action film version of the manga will be released in Japan. The film premiered at number one in its first weekend.
Masamune-kun no Revenge after School (Masamune-Revenge kun’s after School) was published in Monthly Comic Rex in September 2018 and terminated in January 2019. In April 2019, Ichijinsha released the tales as “volume 11” of the manga, and Seven Seas Entertainment published the volume in June 2020.
