The anime realm is jam-packed with cute characters, but there must be one who sits atop everyone else. For many Japanese anime fans, the cutest is none other than Rem from Re:Zero.
In a poll conducted at popular Japanese site Ranking.net, tens of thousands of votes were casted to decide on who is the cutest anime character of all time. The survey ended with Rem scoring the highest.
About 17,000 participated in the said poll. Voters were made to choose among four (4) buttons containing different set of points. The cuter they think of the character is, the higher the points they may give. The first button contains 1-40 pts; the second, 41-60pts; the third, 61-80pts; and the last represents 81-100 pts. More than 4,000 voters gave Rem the button containing 81-100 pts.
Generally described to be loyal, caring and strong, Rem remains a top favorite among many otakus. She is a main character in the isekai series Re: Zero. In the story, Rem was initially introduced as an antogonist who repeatedly murders the main lead, Subaru. Eventually, as the story progresses, viewers witness how Rem transforms from a cold and distrustful character to a loyal and gentle companion to Subaru.

Other anime characters who made it in the list include Miku Nakano, Nino Nakano, and Itsuki Nakano from The Quintessential Quintuplets. The three secured the top 2, top 3, and top 4 spots. Takagi from Teasing Master Takagi-san secured the fifth spot. She was then followed by Kaguya Shinomiya from Kaguya-sama: Love Is War.
