Anyone else looking forward to some sort of sweet development in Anya Forger and Damian Desmond’s friendship? Boy, have we got news for you!
Tatsuya Endo’s Spy x Family has recently wrapped up one of its major arc, and we see Anya and Damian leveling up their friendship after an unfortunate incident.
Spy x Family has concluded a significant arc in the manga in which Anya Forger and the rest of her Eden Academy classmates were trapped in a hazardous hostage scenario, and the latest volume of the series made certain to take her friendship plot with Damian Desmond to the next level! After escaping successfully from the hijacking danger in the last episode of the series (thanks to Anya intervening as much as she could with her psychic talents), the students are now reunited with their families as they finally recuperate from such an emotional scenario.

Anya and Damian were two of the final pupils left waiting for their parents to pick them up in Chapter 75 of Spy x Family. Damian reflects on what he had done (it’s a secret for now), holds her hand, and apologizes to Anya for causing her so much hardship despite her bravery. Instead, Anya complements him and says he was also incredibly great for sacrificing his own life to rescue hers. Damian is embarrassed by his “hero move,” but moved on anyway.
After the heart-warming scene, Anya feels her strategy has finally paid off and invites herself over to his house (very Anya-like) to meet his parents, saying it’s nothing more than what friends do for one other. Damian dismisses her once more because he feels she is merely attempting to capitalize on the Desmond name. So it’s one giant step forward and one giant step back. It’s not the only thing Anya should be concerned about; Damian’s mother, Melinda, is also keeping a big secret from her son, but that’s a story for another time.
What do you think of this development in the story? Will Anya finally be able to help Twilight achieve World Peace?
