Senku Ishigami’s goal was determined from the very beginning of the series which is to restore modern civilization. However, upon defeating Tsukasa Shishio, the man who has put him and his friends through hell, he took another path. He decided to save his life once again by finding a way to revive him.
As the scientist behind all the development in the Stone World, Senku Ishigami is known to be a goal-oriented man who always goes beyond just to perfect his inventions. As a child, he openly expressed to his people his goals in life. This mindset of his is something that Senku carried even before being petrified and after being de-petrified. It is significant for any character from any show to set a goal for fans to focus on how the story will go. And in this aspect, Senku definitely puts his above-average intelligence by setting a goal one after the other.

When Senku got de-petrified he found a way to cure those who also turned into stone. One of the first people he saved is Tsukasa Shishio as he was the best option at that time. However, little did he know that letting this man free in the Stone World resulted in the alteration of his main goal for a moment. This is because meeting, befriending, and fighting Tsukasa made Senku enter a war against him and his Empire which Senku didn’t even want to have in the first place.
How Did Tsukasa Became Senku’s Enemy?
The main antagonist of Dr. Stone seasons one and two is none other than Tsukasa Shishio. Senku and Tsukasa’s goals in the Stone World greatly differ which caused a huge gap between them. Senku always knew what he wanted to do and that is to save everyone and leave not a single person behind. On the other hand, Tsukasa only wants to start fresh by de-petrifying only those he thinks are worthy.
At first, there was a short amount of hope that Tsukasa will not walk the path of a villain. He showed a hint of his kindness and thoughtfulness to Senku. He both promises Senku and Taiju that as long as he is there they will never get hurt again. This is because he is now there to protect them.

When the two decided to de-petrify Yuzuriha, lions suddenly showed up and chased after them. The three of them bonded very well in the beginning and also shared the responsibility to get through their lives in the Stone World. However, Tsukasa’s greediness causes their friendship to fall apart. He broke all the stones without any hint of guilt in front of Senku. He was nice; however, his experience made him aggressive and pessimistic in terms of life.
After finding out that Senku does not agree with his ideals. He decided to finally end Senku’s life for he was the biggest hindrance to him. With his knowledge with regard to the revival fluid of Senku. He started to build his own empire. Tsukasa began to gather only the people from modern times that would greatly benefit him in fulfilling his goal.

How did Senku Won Against Tsukasa’s Empire?
Having no idea that Senku was still alive. The young scientist and the people from the village were able to take big steps in restoring modern civilization. As the battle with Tsukasa’s Empire is getting closer, Senku’s team has already achieved miles, including the following:
Creating a Stone Age Cellular Phone
Instead of training themselves to fight better against Tsukasa. Senku knows that when it comes to strength his team is definitely not up against their enemies. Hence, he decided to take the scientific route by building a cellular phone in the Stone World.
The cellular phone allowed communication between him and those who were infiltrating Tsukasa’s Empire, mainly Yuzuriha and Taiju. Having the means to transfer information from both sides allowed them to make a more precise and cautious step before actually invading Tsukasa’s Empire.

Recruiting People from the Empire of Tsukasa
The cellular phone not only allowed both parties to exchange plans and information to successfully win the war. However, it also gave them the opportunity to recruit some additional members. With only the people from the Ishigami Village, Gen, Yuzuriha, and Taiju, Senku’s chances of winning are still not a hundred percent sure.
Since Yuzuriha and Gen were being monitored by Nikki Hanada. They decided to convince him first by Gen pretending to be the famous singer, Lillian. However, Nikki being a die-hard fan did not fully convince her instead it raises her suspicion more. But, Senku’s promise to preserve the only existing masterpiece of Lillian made Nikki take their side and helped them in getting other members to join their team. Nikki effectively training Gen’s Lillian imitation made it possible for The Kingdom of Science to strengthen their team.

Getting Ukyo on The Kingdom of Science’s Team
Ukyo Saionji is one of the right-hand men of Tsukasa and is greatly known for his exceptional super hearing ability. Ukyo has been a problem for The Kingdom of Science from the moment Gen, Chrome, and Magma planted the cellular phone. Nikki also warned Senku and Gen about him because Ukyo finding it all out can result in everything falling apart.
However, little do they know that Ukyo does not fully agree with Tsukasa’s ideals either. Witnessing Yuzuriha putting the human stone pieces back that Tsukasa destroyed was one of the main reasons. He agreed to join and help Senku and his team with a condition that no one from each side should get badly wounded or die.

Building a War Tank: Steam Gorilla
The war tank from the Stone World isn’t as sturdy as those from modern civilization. But, it was enough for them to use during the stone war. Senku decided to build a tank for the stone war in order to save Chome who was held in prison by Tsukasa’s people. With the help of everyone, Senku’s version of a war tank was able to come to life even in a very primitive world. They did not only used the tank to invade Tsukasa’s Empire, but they also utilized it as a vehicle to head to the empire from the Ishigami Village.

With all of these goals during war planning achieved, Senku successfully entered his enemy’s empire together with all of The Kingdom of Science Forces. However, his true main goal during that time which is to reclaim the miracle cave was not that easy to do. After Tsukasa discovered the phone buried underground, he immediately realized that Senku might already be in his empire initiating his plans. Hence, he and Hyoga went there as fast as they can and fought everyone back.
Hyoga and Tsukasa tag teaming made them more invincible even against all the fighters on Senku’s side. But, with enough time The Kingdom of Science was able to win and scare off all of Tsukasa’s people through the paper plane dynamite. Tsukasa agrees to a truce with Senku after the scientist told him about the possibility that Tsukasa’s little sister, Mirai, can be healed by de-petrifying her. Tsukasa clung to the hope that her sister can be cured. Thus, he led Senku and his team to the location of her sister.

Mirai reuniting with his brother completely changes the way Tsukasa is. Mirai became the reason why peace between parties was made possible. However, it was only short-lived because of Hyoga’s hidden intention. Senku and Tsukasa both fought Hyoga who was determined to end their lives. For the first time, the former enemies worked together and were successful. But, Tsukasa got critical injuries from the fight. Since the Stone World lacked the resources that would save him, Senku decided to freeze him to sleep until he finds a way to bring him back.

The Aftermath of the Stone Wars: The Rise of Ryusui Nanami
Finally, after defeating Tsukasa’s Empire, Senku is now back to his original goal and which is to save humanity from world petrification. However, Tsukasa was put into a deep sleep due to his injuries. This made Senku much more eager to not only find a way to de-petrify all human beings. But also to petrify then de-petrify his now-friend Tsukasa Shishio.
Restore modern civilization. Depetrify the human race. Save his former enemy. These are now the goals of Senku that keep the series more interesting and enjoyable to watch. The problem is that even with a scientist as intelligent as Senku these things are not that easy to achieve. Hence, Senku together with people from The Kingdom of Science took a step-by-step process in achieving. At the very top of their list is to do to reach their goal is to make a ship enough to carry them to the other side of the world.

The hour-long special episode of Dr. Stone titled Dr. Stone: Ryusui contains vital scenes on what happens between the end of season two and before the beginning of season three. In this episode, we have seen Gen and the others gaining the trust of those from Tsukasa’s previous empire by reenacting a stageplay about the life of Senku since he got petrified. When they already have enough manpower, Senku shares all the steps needed which are the following:
Building a Ship and Awakening the Greediest Man
Senku and the rest of The Kingdom of Science decided to build a ship that would allow them to travel outside the island. Since world petrification is from the other side of the world, Senku believes that they can find the answer in South America. However, with only the small boats from the Ishigami Village traveling the seas for days or months would be impossible.
In the first half of Dr. Stone: Ryusui, Gen announced that a competition for the ship’s design will be held. Although, it was already decided for Senku’s design to win. The competition was announced for inclusivity. It is important in any form of leadership to not be forced. Hence, the ship design competition allowed everyone to feel that they are given the right to choose even though there is already a winner.

When it was decided that Senku’s design will be the one to follow. He mapped out all the things that they need to gather for the ship. Tsukasa’s awakening of mainly muscular people from modern times gave them the manpower they needed to easily build the ship as soon as possible. However, when there is a ship, a captain should also be present.

By asking for information from Minami Hokutozai who is a very skilled reporter, Senku together with his so-called Gorilla Team (Kohaku, Magma, and Nikki) went to an island where Nanami Academy, a marine school, once stood. Senku values skill over anything in some cases and this was one of them. Minami warned them that awakening spoiled greedy brat, Ryusui Nanami, would be a bad idea. However, he disregards them because of his exceptional sailing skills.
Locating an Oil Field by Traveling Through the Sky
In order to make a motor-sail hybrid ship, Senku also needs to gather proper fuel to make it work. Senku decided to search for an oil field where they can get the petroleum needed for their ship. However, the problem is that the oil field is located in Shizuoka where the finest petroleum can be found. The New Chrome Expedition Team together with Kohaku and Ukyo went to Shizuoka to locate the oil plant.
What the Expedition Team did not expect is the massive changes in the landscape of Japan. With a thousand years passing, it should be expected that everything didn’t stay the same way. When they relayed to Senku what they found, he deduced that the coastline must have been a mess because the great Mount Fuji erupted at least four, five, or even ten times which greatly changed the landscape.

In episode one of season three, creating a world map was the main goal of Senku. The map that they have was already too inaccurate for them to keep on using it. Therefore, based on Suika’s idea, Senku decided to make a hot air balloon for them to locate the oil field easily and make a new map based on the current terrains of the island. To know who will be the first three people to ride the ballon, Gen made everyone select a card.

He tells them that aside from Senku the two people who will pick the Joker card will be passengers. The hot air balloon needed a pilot that could read the wind. But, because of Ryusui’s greedy attitude, Gen decided to trick him into becoming the pilot while Chrome won out of luck.
In conclusion, Senku’s goals just keep on growing. Finishing the world map and locating the oil field are just two of them. And even if his goals keep growing in number, one thing remains the same. At the beginning of season three, Ryusui Nanami reiterated that the current and ultimate goal of Senku Ishigami is to restore human modern civilization by reviving all of humanity, starting with Tsukasa Shishio. Hence, I know that like me, we cannot wait for their ship to finally sail and start on their new adventure in Dr. Stone: New World. Hopefully, Tsukasa can reunite with them as soon as possible.
